what is the advantages and disadvantages of the great wall of china

one advantage is that it will keep out intruders. Then one disadvantage is that no one can get in and get out

throughout the the build, the great wall took away more lives than it saved. Even when they were building the wall China payed a tribute to the Mongols. The biggest advantage was that the Great Wall of China expanded their trade through the Silk Road.

The Mongols still eventually found their way around the wall and fought with China. The main reason they built the wall was to keep the northern invaders (the Mongols) out, and it did not do that.

Advantages of the wall are that the wall was built to keep enemies out of China. The wall is about 5,500.3 miles long. That is a far walk. The wall was once separated into different parts. Then one ruler connected them. Did you know the wall was all made? A lot of work right?

There was always a way to get in or out of the wall, the entrance was just fortified greatly and it did keep out most invaders but soon China was taken over by Ghenghis Khan from the North who had no use for the wall.

an advantage is keeping the mongolians out.a disadvantage is they cannot get in or out north easily or not at all

it did reduce the raids by the Mongol raiders
but ultimately failed to stop the Mongol army
it is a tourist attraction!

it didn't eliminate the threat
