About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I qualify? London-Shanghai (2 days) -London Via Dubai

I am going to Shanghai from London, then getting a flight back to London, however it goes via Dubai, does this count as transit through Shanghai as I go onto a 3rd country?

Do you have the connecting ticket from Shanghai to London or separate one to Dubai first? If you have the separate tickets, you are qualified for 72h visa-free transit. If not, a visa is needed.
