London-Shanghai-Japan-London (21days)

Hi,

I know I do not need a visa for Japan (as I can travel on tourist visa up to 90 days)

However for this trip and to make it cost effective, I would prefer to spend 6nights in China and then fly to Japan for 2 wks and back to China for a couple nights before heading home? Is this possible as a BRITISH CITZEN who entered China on a 24-144hr visa free pass?

So your route is like UK - 6 nights in China - two weeks in Japan - couple night in China - UK? Yes, you are covered by the 240 visa free transit, so you do not need a visa to China. BTW, the 144-hour visa-free transit has been extended to 240-hour, 10 days.

Oh, it’s been extended, that’s awesome. I’ll of course triple-check but this really helps. Thank you again for taking the time to respond
