About:China Tourist Visa

Documents for Chinese Visa application

In your guide above, it says:

"For tourism, applicants also need provide the below required documents.
4. Under some situations, the original and copy of Chinese Hotel Booking and Return Air Ticket are required."

What are some of those "situations" where a copy of hotel booking and return tick is required?

If you are visiting for tourism, but without invitation letter issued by any travel agency or relatives in China, hotel reservation and return ticket are required.

I have just applied for an L tourist visa in London UK. It seems far more strict than normal these days, but my friend in the US had less trouble. I found even the visa centre information online is not up to date. (8 February 2013)

Although this may just be a UK issue, I suggest that you call the visa centre/embassy to check thoroughly what is required.

(To tell you: I had an invitation letter from personal Chinese inviter, with THEIR photocopied ID, and they said I needed a photocopy of the other side of the ID, something impossible for me to get in the time frame).

Perhaps you can call your visa centre or get an email from someone.
