About:Chinese Embassy in Nepal

Can you please tell me if I can obtain a Chinese visa in Nepal?

Hi,

I am British and hold a UK passport. I have booked a flight into Chennai, India on 26th Feb 2013 and out of Shanghai, China on 24th August 2013.

May I obtain a Chinese visa in Nepal? If this is not possible, can I get one on arrival in Hong Kong? I am also interest to know if I need a separate one for Tibet.

What documents would be required and how much does it cost?

Thank you,

I'm afraid you can't get it in Nepal if you don't have residence permit there. However, you may get one in Hk. You don't need a separate one for Tibet, but you need a Tibet Entry Permit.

The requirements differ from different travel purpose. You have to pay for HKD360 for a single entry one.

Hi Bruce,

Many thanks for your reply. Do you know anywhere else in Asia, apart from HK, that issues Chinese visa's?

Thanks you :o)

The fact is that it is difficult to get Chinese visa in a third country now, most of the embassies and consulates only process visa application for their resident. If you are Now in UK, you can try to apply for a visa in advance. If you plan to visit in August, a multiple entry valid for 1 year is your best option.
