About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I need a visa or permit to spend a few hours in Shanghai?

I 'm holding a U.S. passport and I'm travelling by cruise ship that disembarks in Baoshan at 10:00 AM. My flight from Pudong Airport back to the U.S.A. would be later in the afternoon at 4:30 PM.
