About:China Weather
I intend to visit Beijing and Shanghai as from mid July. What kind of weather can we expect?

Hi, it will be extremely hot during mid July. The average temperature of both cities is 26-28C. Sometimes, the highest temperature reaches around 40C. Therefore, summer clothes are most needed. Besides, you'd better keep the sun-prevention cream and sunglasses when traveling.
In addition, it will rain frequently, both in Beijing and Shanghai. So I suggest you prepare the rainy coat as well. Before outing, it is best to pay attention to the weather forecast.1
