About:

shanghai cruise port to bullet train station for Hangzhou and for Suzhou

We want to take fast bullet train to Hangzhou one day and then to Suzhou next day, from SH.
How far from cruise port to station and which station should we use. Would taxi to train station be best thank you.

On day one we have all day to spend. On day two we must be back at port to take ship by 1500 hours.

Do you mean the port near the Bund at Dongdaming Road?
If so, you need go to Hongqiao Railway Station, which is about 22km from the port. Taxi can be most convenient and taxi fare will be around 75RMB or more. If by MTR, you can walk from the port to Lujiazui MTR Station to take subway line 2 to Hongqiao Railway Station directly.

By bullet train at Hongqiao Railway Station, you can arrive at Hangzhou in 1-1.5h.

As you have to be back to take ship next day at 15:00. I suggest you go to Suzhou by train at the first day afternoon or night. In the nest early morning, you can visit Suzhou. After that, you can take a high-speed train back to catch up the cruise.
