10 Day Transit Visa - Entry into Shenzhen from Kowloon bullet train

Hi,

I'm soon to be travelling to Hong Kong for an exhibition and also have meetings across Guandong. I was hoping to be able to enter Mainland China, Futian in Shenzhen in this case via the bullet train from Kowloon Train Station on the 10 day transit Visa. We would then be flying out of Guangzhou at the end of that week (after arriving Monday) heading to Dubai before returning to the UK from there, so using Dubai as the 3rd territory.

I'm finding conflicting information online, some states this is acceptable as Kowloon Station has Visa/Immigration booths at the station and some information is saying i cannot enter Mainland China using the train on a 10 day visa, i can only leave China on the train into Hong Kong.

Are you able to confirm either way for me, and if i can't use the train am i best flying from Hong Kong Airport to Shezhen Bao?

Thanks in advance
Stuart

You cannot use a train to travel from Hong Kong to Shenzhen under 240 hour visa free transit. However, the train is eligible when traveling from mainland China to Hong Kong under 240 hour visa free transit. In your case, you will just replace the train with a ferry from Hong Kong to Shekou port in Shenzhen and you will have an eligible itinerary. So, you will take a ferry operated by CKS from Hong Kong - Macau ferry terminal or alternatively called as Sheung Wan to Shekou port in Shenzhen. Also, after your stay in mainland China you will travel to Dubai, UAE. If you do exactly as I have explained, you will be eligible for 240 hour visa free transit. I strongly advise you to have your flight ticket (booking confirmation) from Guangzhou to Dubai printed out or at least as a screenshot to expediate the entire procedure because you will be asked to present it in both Hong Kong at the time of your boarding the ferry and upon your arrival at Shekou port in Shenzhen. Have a nice visit to China.
