I am thinking of visiting China for three or four weeks in April or May and will be travelling alone.

Many foreigners go to China every year. I have been there for three times in the past five years. It is very safe to travel there, although you cannot speak Engligh. In big cities such as Beijing and Shanghai, many young people or citizens can speak English and the direction signs announcements have Chinese and English. For small towns, if you prepared well, you will not be lost.According to my traveling experience, this website is very useful, which provides travellers all kinds of information.
