China trip from Manila for US passport

I hold US passport and live in SF. Will be going to Manila and plan to visit Beijing. Ticket going to China will be purchased in Manila. I know to apply for visa requires to show plane ticket to China. Can I apply it in Manila to enter China? Is the fee the same from SF or from Manila? Pls. Advise what is the best thing to do. Thanks

Hi, you are suggested to get a visa to China before departure. Because to apply in a third country, you may be asked to provide valid proof of residency, work or study in Philippines. You can try to provide ticket from US to Philippines and detailed travel itinerary instead.
