Is it possible to go to Seoul and change my F to a L?

Hi, I am currently in China on a F visa that is to expire on December 25th. Everyone says to go to Hong Kong but I would prefer to travel around South Korea over the holidays before going back to China to travel.

It is impossible to change your Chinese visa in Seoul as the embassy and consulate there only accept application from foreigners with Alien Residence Card valid for more than 6 months.
