About:Chinese Embassy in Israel

Does an Israeli Citizen stopping over for 2-3 hours lay-over in Shanghai airport requires a VISA?

I am an Israeli Citizen (currently staying in Tokyo) scheduled to stop for 2 hours in Shanghai airport on my way to Thailand and another 3 hours on my way back using China Eastern Airlines 中国东方航空
Do I need a visa in case I do not plan to leave the Airport?
Thank you

Visa is not required if you remain in the transit area in the airport both way to and back from Thailand.
