Can I do a bullet journey return from shanghai to honghzhou in one day.

Is it worth the experience? Need I book or would I get a seat just arriving at the station, which stop would I go to for a walk around the city then return? Which number is the bullet one? First and second class seats? prices? Thanks P.S Any good ideas for what to do in Shanghai for about 10 days? I guess a day to suzhu.
