About:Beijing Subway

what is the fastest way to get from the airport to the Forbidden City

i beleive the airport express train is the fastest, but where should i alight? and what is the next line to take? or should i take a taxi?

Also will it be ok to visit the great wall at around 3 PM or is too late in the day? i will be there in novemeber 25.

Hi, you are right. The airport express train is very fast. You need get off at Dongzhimen and transfer to subway line 2 to Jianguomen Station. After that, you need transfer to subway line 1 to Tiananmen East, which is very close to the Forbidden City. The whole journey may take you about 1-1.5h.
Or you can take airport shuttle bus line 2 to Xidan first. Then transfer to subway line 1 to Tiananmen West and then walk to the attraction. It takes about 1h.
During that time, the Forbidden City is cloesd at 16:30. So I don't think it is a good idea to visit at 15:00. It may be a little tiger for visit.
