Hi, you can enter China with a single entry L visa. This allows 30 days stay but it is enough for marriage registration. After that you can extend your stay to a longer duration. Before you go, you should get a No Record of Marriage (Single Status) Certificate and birth certificate. They both, together with Chinese translation, need to be authenticated by Chinese consulate in Melbourne.
