VISA needed for transfer?

Hi,
Me and my wife will travel from Japan to Thailand. Our ticket includes a 5 1/2 hours stop in Shanghai.
Do we need VISA for this transfer? (we will stay at the airport for the 5 1/2 hours)
I have a Swedish passport and my wife a Japanese.

best regards, Lars

If you are holding Sweden passports, you are allowded to transit Pudong or Hognqiao Airport for up to 48 hours without a visa even if you will go out of th eairport to visit the city.

Hi Anna,
As I mentioned in my question my wife has Japanese passport, I have Swedish.
And the transfer is in Shanghai, not in Pudong or Hognqiao.

Hi again Anna,
Sorry, I see now that the airport name in Shanghai is 'Pudong', so then it's only about my wifes Japanese passport - is that also good for transfer in Pudong?

Dear Lars, Japanese passport holders are exempted visa to China for a stay less than 15 days, so your wife is also not required visa to transit in Shanghai.
