Tourist Visa from Geneva!

Hello, I want to apply for a single entry tourist Chinese Visa. I live in Geneva, have a residency card - Carte de Legitimation and my nationality is Pakistani. Is it feasible for me to get one to China from geneva. If so, because I have to travel to China in the end of december what is the most feasible time to apply as I am at the moment not in Switzerland.
