About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

if i get a visa at Shezhen boarder can i visit GUANGZHOU for a couple of days using that visa?

No, the visa you get at Shenzhen border is for Shenzhen only with duration of 5 days. You are not allowed to enter Guangzhou with it. If you will visit Guangzhou, you need to apply for a China visa in advance in Australia.

Can i obtain the visa on arrival at hongkong airport as i am travelling in 2 days time?

It is ok. As I know, there is a travel agency who process visa application to mainland in HK airport. It takes few hours only.
