About:Chinese Embassy in Canada

Is visa required for layover if leave airport

I am a Canadian citizen and will be traveling home from Kuala Lumpur via Shanghai. We have a 6 hour layover and are thinking of leaving the airport in Shangahai. Do we need visas?

Visa is not required, and you are allowed to go out to the city during the stopover.
