One day visa for German citizen

Can I ask for one-day visa payying the extra fee, being a German citizen? Someone told me that there are new dispositions in place since August 2012? Second, if so, Do I have to it personally or can I ask a travel agent to process it?

I am afraid not. You can have a try if you apply in Thailand. As I know, from July 5th, 2012, Chinese embassy and consulates in Germany do not provide the express or rush service for visa processing, as well as in other EU countries. The processing time takes 4 working days.
