Is Shanghai 48 hours "Free visa" for some country still availiable?

Hello!
My next trip will bring me and my wife from Seoul (South Corea) to tokyo (Japan) via Shanghai, and we would like to know if the "free" entry for less than 48 hours sill exist in Shanghai for selected coutries (we are french citizens) : we have the opportunity to land at Pudong Airport, and we would like to visit the city for one day.
We booked two separate flights Seoul > Shanghai (land at 18h30) and Shanghai > tokyo (take off at 12h00, midday), both with China Southern.
If it still exisit, what do we have to do (administrative papers, etc.) before to take off from Seoul, or when entering in Shanghai pundong Airport?
Every researches I did seems to be out of date (2009 or 2010)… Can you give us your sources?
Thank you for your answers!

Hi, if you travel with two separate flights, this regulation is not applicable.
