14 hour stopover in Guangzhou airport

We stop from 7am to 9pm in the airport, on the way from Amsterdam to Brisbane. Ignoring visa requirements (have that sorted), is there much to do in the city besides going to the giant shopping mall?

You can also go to visit Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Bright Filial Piety Temple and Yuexiu Park. Or you can go to the Chimelong Resort for fun during this layover.
