About:China Visa Exemption

24 hours stopover in shanghai

Hi I have one or two day stop over in Shanghai. My partner is from New Zealand and I am from the UK. Do we need visas?

Dear Chris, New Zealand passport holders are not reqiuired visa to Transit in Shanghai for not more than 48 hours. You need to get a visa in advance if you plan to go out of the airport or stay longer than 24 hours. This is a policy based on mutual aggreement between China and UK.
