How to go to Xian from Beijing and Hunan from Hong Kong

Hi friends,

We are planning to go to Xian and Hunan, leaving from Beijing (to Xian) and finishing our trip in Hong Kong (coming from Hunan).

Based on this itinerary, our questions would be:
a) How can we get from: (1) Beijing to Xian (2) Xian to Hunan (3) Hunan to Hong Kong
b) how long do you recomend us to stay in Xian and in Hunan?

Thanks for all your help.
Cheers.

Ramiro

From Beijing to Xian, you can take a train at Beijing West Railway Station. And the direct flight from Beijing to Xian is also suggested.
Hunan is a province of China, not a city. So you can not go to Hunan from Xian. There must be a destination. For example, Changsha, the capital city of Hunan, you can take a flight from Xian to Changsha. Though there are trains in service as well, it takes about 18-20 h for the whole journey.
Then you can take the flight from Changsha to Hong Kong directly.

As for your stopover in Xian, I suggest you stay for two to three days to cover the major well-known attractions. In Hunan, you can spend two days.
For Xian trip, Terracotta Warriors is a must-see and Zhangjiajie is a must for your Hunan trip.
