About:China Transit Visa

London -> Beijing -> Sydney

We are travelling London to Sydney via Beijing during the stop overs (10 hours there/6 hours back) can we get a 24 hour stay permit at the airport so that we may leave during this time?

If yes any idea how quick the processing is? Would be cool if we could sneak in a trip to the Wall or Forbidden City :)

We are both UK citizens.

Thanks,
Matt

It is easy and quick for you to get a stay permit at the airport, also, there are travel agencies within or near the airport who may arrange day tours to the Great Wall. Or, you can try to rent a car if necessary and travel your own to Badaling Great Wall.
