Can my friend be a sponsor?

Hello. I am Ukraine passport holder and would like to visit Hong Kong. Do I have to present upon arrival at the airport a document about sufficiency of my funds throughout the whole stay or no? How does it work? If I don't have sufficient funds, can my friend (non-Hong Kong citizen living outside Hong Kong) be a sponsor? Thanks.

With Ukraine passport, you are not required visa to HK for 14 days. The financial proof of having sufficient funds maybe required by immigration officers when necessary, your friend can be your sponsor, but you need to prepare an invitation letter from him/her with clear personal information which states that he/she will support your stay in HK . BTW it is better if you have purchased your return air fare and hotel in HK.
