visa application enquiry regarding return of visa + passport by post

i am a uk passport holder living in france and if i send passport + visa form by post can you return pasport +visa by post

Do you mean you plan to post your visa application to China Visa Application Service Center in Paris, since China Embassy in paris only accept visa application of diplomatic and offical passport holders.  If so, the center does provide mail service, but you have to undertake the risk of any loss of your documents.
