I am an American on a 457 visa in Australia and would like to get a multiple entry visa to travel in China.  I am currently in Perth.

Then, you may just apply fo rth evisa from the consulate-general of China in Perth with your passport, China visa application form A & B, yoru australian visa, tour ininerary or flight and hotel booking, etc.
