visit visa..

my boyfriend was a seaman and he is a european citizen we just decided to meet in china for couple of weeks let say 3 weeks,while they perform the vessel dry dock in china.what would be the procedure i need to do so i can enter china?do i still need to get a tourist visa? or visit visa? i dont know which one would be applicable and its procedure.i hope you can help me find the proper procedures how to get the right visa for me...
