If you won't go into the Fobidden City, 1.5-2 h is sufficient for you to visit Tiananmen Square and go to Tiananmen Tower.The square visiting is free and ascending Tiananmen Tower costs about CNY 15.Anyway, if you wanna view all the sights including the Forbidden City, it may take about 3-4 h in total and cost about CNY 80.
