Entry Visa to China

I plan to travel to China form Ireland soon, having been offered a Teach English Language position there for 10 months. I have been told that I require a holiday visa to enter the country but they will then sponsor my work Visa on arrival. My question is what type of Visa do i need to apply for from my end, and what documentation is required? I look forward to your feedback.

If they told you that they will sponsor to get a work visa for you after you entered China, then you can apply for a single entry tourist visa to China.
You need to provide one completed visa application form (V2011A available on this website), one recent photograph for passport, passport valid up to at least six months with blank pages and the two-way flight details and itinerary.
