Hi, Ali, a multiple entry visa valid for 6 months or 12 months, meaning from the issuing visa time to "enter before" time, there is 6 months or 12 months. Only within this period can you enter China. After you enter China, you can only have a duration of 30 days at most, so each time, when the 30 days is going to expire, you have to exit China. But since the visa is multiple entry visa, provided the visa is still within the period mentioned above, you can re-entry China and get another 30 days duration again.
You said you want to stay 90 days. I suggest you do it this way: about a week before the 30 days exoires, go to the local exit-entry department in China to ask for a 30 days extension. When this new 30 days is to expire, you can exit mainland china, go to HK (you are exempted from Hk visa to visit hk) and then re-enter mainland china.
