Transit Visa for China with stopovers in two cities

Hi,

I have a flight from Sydney to Amsterdam. My flight is from Sydney to Guangzhou (4hour stop over). and then Guangzhou to Beijing (40min stopover/ refuel) then straight to Amsterdam.

Am I in need of a transit visa via this route as I have contacted the Chinese Visa centre in Sydney and they replied I don't know it depends on customs and thats a different dept?!

If anyone can advise me if this is needed that would be great! :)

You need to apply for a transit visa in advance if you have stopovers in two cities in mainland China.
