Visa Extension Process

Hello...

My wife is a Chinese National and I am an American by birth. I have a two-year multi-entry 60-day L visa, and I am coming up on 60 days this week. In reading the above thread, is it correct that there is an alternative to the L visa extension? The Beijing Municipal Exit-Entry Office told me I need to make a deposit at a local bank, get a health clearance, and then apply for an extension.

Is the Family Visit Visa a different visa? If so, how do I apply, where do I apply, and what do I need?

Thank you so much.

Is your two-year multi-entry 60-day L visa expiring soon, or only ending on this entry? the family visit visa is the same as the visa you have now.

Alvin my visa expires in two years, so it's just the 60-day limit I am up against.

I see, but this visa is almost the best in China for foreigners. No one can ensure you that you will be issued a visa with longer duration even you renew it from PSB. However, I have seen many people doing in this way to start next entry, they just go through the control and turn around and come back in again. So, not leaving China actually.
