DO I need a transit Visa for two stopovers?

DO I need a transit Visa to make two stops in China while enroute from Manila to Canada? My itinerary includes a 1.5 hour stopover in Xiamen, followed by a 3 hour stopover in Beijing.

The Chinese law says if you stay at the transit area in the airport and departure within 24 hours, no visa is needed even you have two stopovers. But recently my friend who had the same circumanstance with you was required to apply a transit visa. You had better enquiry the visa office for certain, otherwise if a transit visa is required and you have not got one in advance, you will be prevent entering China.
