If you live in Northland, Auckland, or Waikato, you can submit your application to Chinese consulate in Auckland. Documents needed are as follows:
1. Visa Application Form (Form V2011A) and Visa Application Form (Form V2011B)
2. One recent passport sized color photo;
3. Original passport valid for over 6 months with 2 blank visa pages;
4. A copy of return ticket (e-ticket), invitation letter from your friend in China including the inviters' personal details and contact information.
5. Your NZ student visa and copy of information page.
