how many days i can stay in china with a emergency certificate issued by shanghai

Question

I lost my indian passport & Chinese business visa in china on 8th may 2012. I went to shanghai consulate & got a emergency certificate on 11th May 2012 , they said that is valid for 6 months .I ENTERED NINGBO, CHINA WITH 6 MONTHS MULTIPLE ENTRY BUSINESS VISA ON MARCH 10TH 2012.Now how can i get a valid visa from china ? How many days i can stay in china with this emergency certificate . Is this emergency certificate permits me to travel in flights & trains ? Am i safe now as per chinese law ? or is this under crime ?Please reply with guidance as soon as possible .

Personally, I think you can just travel China with the emergency certificate within its validity. However, to make sure that you won't overstay in China, you'd better confirm your doubts with the shanghai consulate who issued the certificate for you again.
