About:China Visa

Cruise to China and Hong Kong

hi, my husband and i live in australia . my husband is travelling on an australian pass port. i am on a british passport
we are going on a cruise to hong kong and china - shanghai - later this year. we will obviously be returning to the ship each night.

will we require to get visa ? will we require any injections from our doctor before we leave australia?

Yes, you need to apply for a China visa in advance. no injection is required. BTW, if you will enter China at different ports, you need multiple entry China visa. Your description for itinerary is not clear "China - shanghai" I am not sure how many times you will enter China mainland.

Hi Alvin,
thank you for your help. We will be visiting Shangai for just 1 day, returning to our ship at night, and we have a 2 day stop at Hong Kong. However, I believe as per your website that neither of us require a visa for Hong Kong. We are then crusing on further to South Korea and Japan and back to Australia.
I don't understand why we need a Visa for China when we are only there for such a few hours, probably from about 9.00 in the morning till 4.00 pm. at the end of the same day.
We are not even sleeping there ! Such a short visit and yet we have to pay some $80 - $90 each !!! Wow... That will limit the money we have left to do very much tourist type activities or spent money in Shanghai !!
