Transit visa at HK Airport

I will be in transit for a day in Hong Kong. After which i will be transiting to India. I read on HK's immigration site that Indians have a visa free period for 14 days. Can i get the transit visa for a day at HK International Airport and discover a few tourist hubs before my departure? Or, do i need to file for a transit visa before entering HK?

Yes, if you hold Indian passport, you can go out of the airport for sightseeing for that day.
I see that you said you are from New zealand when asking this question. No worry. If you hold New Zealand passport, you can still do this. Have fun!
