About:Chinese Embassy in Australia

Do I need a visa to leave Guangzhuou airport - I will be in transit and stop over is 16 hours?

Travelling on NZ passort (Australian Citizen) to Los Angeles USA return. Have a long stop over and wish to see some sights.

You don't need a visa if you stay within the airport transit area. Otherwise, you need to apply for a transit visa in advance.
