HK exit-entry permit

I am holding PRC passport and studing in Seattle currently. I will go to study in HK during this summer. My question is if I'm going to enter HK through Mainland China should I apply for a Exit-entry permit or I can paste the visa label onto my PRC passport? How long will the Exit-Entry permit will take to proceed and what document should I bring?

If you will enter HK through Mainland China with your Chinese passport, you are required to provide the Exit-entry permit. And your purpose to Hong Kong is for study, the Exit-entry permit is not enough, and it can only be used to stay in Hong Kong for 7 days. So, you need to apply for a student visa in advance in China. The visa processing takes several days if required documents are well-prepared.
