If you just make a short stop in Beijing on the Australia-Beijing-Japan trip, then it will be a single entry for you. If you will stay in Beijing for more thna one day on the Australia-Beijing-Japan trip, and then return to Beijing from Japan for another few days, it will be a double entry.
