You don't need to make an appointment before hand, you can come to China consulate in Vancouver directly, the consulate is closed on April 9 for the Easter Monday.
1. Death Certificate emanating from Province of B. C. and the Territory of Yukon to be used in China have to be done as follows:
A. Death Certificate should first be notarized by a notary public or a lawyer;
B. Secondly be legalized by the local provincial authorities( please refer to the address below );
C. Finally be authenticated by the Chinese Consulate-General in Vancouver.
Note: Documents originating from areas other than Province of B. C. and the Territory of Yukon should be authenticated by the Chinese Embassy in Ottawa, the Consulate General in Toronto or in Calgary.
