work visa for japan from china

I am a canadian tourist in China currently looking to apply for a Japanese work visa, my chinese tourist visa is almost up, and I am wondering if I go apply for the visa in shanghai how long will it take to process? Can it be done in 1 day?

I think you don't have reseidence permit of China, right? Thus, I'm afraid that you are not able to get a Japanese visa in China, since the Japan Embassy in China regulates that only aliens having long-term residence permit of China or China Work visa can apply for a Japanese visa in China.
