what needed documents required us citizen for visa to china

i want to take trip to china ,shanghai,pudong airport for visit with wman i some day soon want to marry,she has sent me letter of invitation to come stay at her home and provide me with housing,food,transportations,and medical expenses ,what do i need...

You may apply for a China tourist visa from the Consulate-general of China in New York with your valid passport, a completely filled and signed visa application form affixed with a colored, front-facing, hatless passport picture taken against a light background within 6 months. Meanwhile, the woman in China also have to send you copy of her Chinese Identity card as the assistance of your visa application.
