German citizen, apply for visa to China while travelling in Japan?

I am a German citizen, currently holding a L visa in China. My L visa extension will expire in 2 weeks, I am thinking about to visit friends and relatives in Japan and come back to China after my trip. Can I apply for the multiple L visa (6months valid) in Tokyo for China? My father (a half Chinese and half Japanese, Chinese passport holder) is living in China.
Thanks for your help.

You can submit your visa to Chinese embassy or consulate in Japan, but no one can make sure that you will be issued a 6 month visa with multiple entries. It all depends on visa officers and the documents you provide. Good luck!

Hi Joe,

but would this be possible in general? I mean just apply a L visa? Because Im not currently living in Japan.

The officers in the visa office of the Embassy have the final say to this, nobody else can guarantee this for you.
