About:Chinese Embassy in Belgium

CVASC

I am a Belgian passport holder and I want to apply for a normal tourist visa. My question is: am I obliged to go to the CVASC or can I still get a tourist visa in the consulate?

If you are holding ordinary passport, you can just apply for the China visa from the CVASC.

Yes, I understand. But they ask for a 36 euro service fee. So my question is: can you also apply for the visa in the consulate where you don't have to pay service fees?

However, as far as I know, the embassy of China in Belgium only accept China visa applications from applicants holding Diplomatic, Service or Official passport and Macau & Hong Kong visa/ entry permit application at present.
