It is possible for you to go to Hong Kong and apply for a 3 months single entry L visa with 30 days stay duration. It is hard for you to get a L visa with 90 days stay duration.

Yes its possible for you to go to Hong Kong and apply for 3 months single entry L visa for 30 days duration as Peter says its hard for you to get 90 days duration. Most specially now its very hard in China. I am married to my Chinese wife so just recently I apply in here and got for 6 months duration 180 days and I can reapply again thats because I am married if not its not that easy in China now . I got 1 year Multiple entry family L visa to china but only 30 days duration this is why I cancelled that and reapply again for longer duration 180 days . So this only if your married or work if not its not easy at all now . Even if your married she must have good work like in the government most specially if your on L visa so many things but finally I got mine . and again when I apply again I have no problem because I have register to police in shanghai and joined with my wife resident card .
