Double entry visa refused at Beijing airport!!

Me and my GF took Double entry Visa for China from Vancouver, Canada on July 2011. the date to enter before china as written on the visa was Oct 2011. Type of Visa is "L", number of entries =2, enter before date = oct 2011 issue date is july 2011. We entered China on August 2011 as first entry. without any problem. and left 25 days after in September to India. My GF went back to China yesterday while im in India, But at the Beijing airport the immigration didnt let her in saying that the VISA is expired !! She has to travel to Hong Kong now and is enroute. To our understanding, the Double entry visa is valid for 6 months. Can anyone explain what is the problem here
as i will be facing the same problem when i go there for my 2nd entry in a few weeks time. or should i apply for another visa?? there is no information on the visa sticker about expiry of the 2nd entry.

enter before date = oct 2011, you have to use the two entries before Oct 2011, after it, your visa expired, you have to apply for a new visa.

It's true that a double entry visa is generally valid for 6 months, however, you got a 2-entry visa valid for 3 months (July 2011 - October 2011).

You will face the same problem when you go to China for your 2nd entry in a few weeks time if you don't apply for a new visa.

Since Im in India, im not in a position to renew my Passport in time to obtain a new Chinese Visa as its duration is 5 months and they only issue visa on rassport with 6 months and more validity.

Can i go from Delhi to Beijing and then go to Hong Kong for a few hours to come back before my flight back to Canada?

I found a flight from HongKong Airlines from Beijing to HK but it leaves from Terminal 2. Can i transfer from Terminal 3 to Terminal 2 without Immigration hassle? and similarly on the way back from HK to PEK from terminal 2 to terminal 3 without immigration clearing?

I'm a little confused of your itinerary. Anyway, if you don't leave the ariport transit area ( direct transit) for a transit less than 24 hours, you won't need a China visa. As you have a previously used china visa, you may also get a 24-hour stay permit at the airport upon arrival.

HI David, since the time difference between my connecting flights is more than 24 hours 30hours exact) I will need some sort of visa extension.

They gave me a 3 month visa instead of 6 month as requested and hence i will be facing this trouble. I should have made it clear at time of receiving my visa from the embassy. that was my oversight. Now the result is that the one extra day we had planned to visit beijing again is cancelled, but since i cant change flight easily due to busy time of the year, im looking for a way out.

the 24 hour stay permit that you talked about can you elaborate about it? i cant find info other that one on this site as follows :

"However, in some instances the airport immigration officials will issue you with a 24 hour 'Stay Permit'. When you make bookings that look like you will not be checked straight through to your final destination you are advised to ask the airline or the agent, or contact a visa issuing consulate to check if a transit visa is required."

any info about how to get this?
